“Vote it!”: Trump pays Ginsburg his last respects and is booed
US President Donald Trump was greeted with jeers and boos Thursday when he visited the flag-adorned casket of the late Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg in Washington.
The crowd that had gathered at the foot of the Supreme Court steps to pay their last respects to the popular attorney Ginsburg vented their disgust at Trump’s presence.
Trump, who was wearing a black mouth and nose guard and is accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, pauses near the coffin. Soon after, clearly audible boos can be heard from the others gathered.
When the president and first lady stop at Ginsburg’s coffin, the boos turn into the following sentence: “Vote for him!” A few moments later, Trump turns around and leaves the scene.
This is not the first time that Trump has been booed during a public appearance in Washington.
When Trump participated in a Washington Nationals game last October, the assembled crowd chanted “Lock him up.” The motive was the investigation of the impeachment process against Trump.
