The Nashville Predators celebrate their Norris Trophy winner with a special honor in their own stadium. There are even some spectators.

On Wednesday morning (Nashville time), Roman Josi recounted in an interview with SRF Sport how he and his wife celebrated in an unspectacular and quiet way winning the Norris Trophy on Monday.

Due to the Corona situation, the NHL Awards could not be held as usual. Reason enough for the Nashville Predators, their main defender and captain, to prepare a very special surprise.

Numerous supporters joined

When the curtain fell on the Nashville arena Wednesday night, Josi’s pregnant wife, Ellie Ottaway-Josi, suddenly stood in front of the NHL’s best defender of the season. Together they see numerous congratulations from the 30-year-old colleagues from Bern in the large video cube.

In addition to his family and teammates like Ryan Johansen and Pekka Rinne, Roger Federer insisted on congratulating Josi on his milestone. Some spectators were even allowed to attend the surprise gala.
