The big stage once meant everything to Cony Sutter (62). Like “Sutter + Pfändler”, he and his partner Peter Pfändler (59) made people laugh for 20 years. After Sutter was diagnosed with lung cancer nearly three years ago, he was fired from the spotlight. He retired to Schmerikon SG am Obersee, opened the Ahoi Bar & Lounge and is currently running as a senior vice president candidate for the city council.
Now the paint is off in his once brilliant image, just like on a car, so the St. Gallen prosecutor is now investigating him.
The person who caused the accident was found to be unable to drive
This is what it’s all about: on Monday, September 14, shortly before midnight, an initially unknown person drove his car on Lanzenmoosstrasse. The car collided with a properly parked car. It was severely damaged by the collision and moved almost two meters. The unknown person left after the accident without taking over the resolution of the claims, according to the press release from the St. Gallen cantonal police. In addition, a 62-year-old man could be identified as the alleged cause of the accident. A police patrol in the canton of St. Gallen found him unfit to drive and ordered a blood and urine sample taken. No one was injured, the material damage amounts to about 5,000 francs.
As the “Linth-Zeitung” writes in its current issue, the rumor in Seedorf immediately began to simmer that the handlebar was Conny Sutter. Anonymous letters with references to the former comedy star are also said to have been received by various outlets.
Car accident with hit or run or political campaign?
Now the question arises whether it was actually a Sutter car accident with a hit-and-run or if it was a political campaign against the candidate for the city council, who is running for election next Sunday. SVP Schmerikon President Stefan Wäckerlin confirmed at the request of the local newspaper that he had already heard the rumor. “Of course I asked him about it.” Wäckerlin notes, however, that “Cony Sutter has been charged in this regard.” In another letter, he adds: “As chairman of SVP Schmerikon and the See-Gaster district party, I cannot control every member every night. That’s not my job. ”Everyone is responsible for themselves, who does what and when in private, Wäckerlin said.
Much more important is that the St. Gallen prosecutor is now investigating Cony Sutter. “We have initiated criminal proceedings against Cony Sutter,” confirms media officer Beatrice Giger to VIEW.
Sutter informed BLICK on Thursday, shortly before noon. “I don’t want to comment on this at this point,” he says. I would soon make a statement. The presumption of innocence applies.
