Schlierem city council should work for a “more Zurich” appearance of Limmattalbahn, local politicians demand.

An application has been submitted to the Schlieren City Council for the “Limmattalbahn design”: the City Council should examine how it can influence on the appearance of Limmattalbahn it may take for the railroad to become an identifying factor for the Limmat Valley.
The design presented in mid-August has absolutely no relation to the Limmat Valley, unless it is understood as a “cold and gray place in Aargau”, writes Dominik Ritzmann (Greens) in his postulate. Seven other councilors have signed it.
Aargau logo “acceptance problem”
For the Limmattalbahn name to be earned, it needs a high recognition value. For example, the coats of arms of all the communities through which the train will one day travel could be reproduced on the vehicles.
The current design foresees that the Aargau Verkehr AG (AVA) logo is prominently displayed on the front of the vehicles. That is “completely incomprehensible,” he continues in the postulate. “Acceptance problems must be prepared.”
The Limmattalbahn from Zurich-Altstetten to Killwangen AG is under construction, with commissioning in Killwangen scheduled for December 2022.
