The new “Mister Corona” Stefan Kuster retires. At the beginning of April, Daniel Koch (65) assumed the direction of the Department of Communicable Diseases of the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG), who was a delegate from Corona until early summer.
Kuster started the position in different conditions. For private reasons, the father of two children decided not to work on the front line of the BAG in the future anymore, but to become involved as a specialized advisor, BLICK learned.
Kuster is now working on mandate
The STOCK MARKET confirms the BLICK information. At his request, Kuster will resign as head of the department no later than December 1, 2020 and will focus on the epidemiological aspects of crisis management at the BAG by mandate.
With the arrival of the new head of BAG Anne Lévy (48) on October 1, the Federal Office should be slightly reorganized. Patrick Mathys, Head of Crisis Management and International Cooperation, and Virginie Masserey, Head of Infection Control, are set to increasingly take on the role of Kuster, those involved say.
