The Lucerne Governing Council found three formal errors in the voting documents. The local council has to postpone the Sagenmatt vote with “deep regret.”
On September 27, Ebikon voters should have voted on the development of Sagenmatt. But now nothing comes out: the city council has to cancel the vote. This is because the Lucerne governing council found three formal errors in the short version of the voting message. The community announced Tuesday night. In its decision of September 22, the governing council criticized the following:
- The lack of objections to the development plan, especially pending issues.
- Two plans at the embassy are so small that their readability is no longer guaranteed.
- Special building regulations are insufficiently described.
The short version of the voting documents criticized by the governing council is sent to all Ebikon citizens by post, while the detailed version can be viewed online.
Long faces at the town hall
The local council “deeply regrets” that the vote has to be canceled, the message said. “We will make up for it at a later date,” said Mayor Daniel Gasser (CVP).
He never intended to hide information from the electorate. The detailed version also contains all the elements that the governing council complains about in the short version. As a consequence of this decision of the governing council, the municipal council will rethink the formal design of the message.
Voting on the establishment of an unaffected parliament
When the vote could be ordered is currently being examined. Ballots already inserted for the Sagenmatt development would be stored for statutory time frames and then destroyed without the outcome being established.
However, the decision of the governing council does not influence the vote on the creation of a neighborhood council. This will take place as planned.
