Boris * (15) has been in a penal institution since June. He is hardly allowed to see his mother. After trying to pile up several times, he was faced with a strict regimen.
Concerned parents from Wettswil am Albis ZH have contacted BLICK. They say that Boris has appeared in town several times and has rang the bells in different directions. Reason: He wanted to hide from the police. When the people fired him, he made loud threats and yelled. After all: he was left with ugly words.
You know him in town. Boris was already offensive in kindergarten and had the same problem at school. The mother was overwhelmed by the outbursts of violence, as were the special educators. The first adjustments followed.
Expensive environments, but violence
Boris first made headlines in 2017 because the child and adult protection authority (Kesb) sent him on an odyssey through care centers, at blatant cost. At peak times, the surveillance of care and private security consumed around 85,000 francs a month. Therapeutic trips in horse-drawn carriages through Provence also led to head shaking (VIEW report).
Boris was sent back to prison two and a half years ago because he was reported by two children who were staying with him in the same special education home. All just a few weeks after he was discharged from the closed department of the psychiatric clinic in Basel in September 2017.
Non-stop in the host family
After the incident, the boy was placed with a foster family in Lucerne for two years. He wasn’t happy there either. The children of the family had already flown. He was left alone. He rose several times and tried to find shelter somewhere. Over and over again in Wettswil am Albis. The last leak in June was too much for the authorities, they sent him to the measurement center in Uitikon ZH.
For the attack on the children in the house, the juvenile court of the Affoltern district court found him guilty in one of the two cases in October 2019. However, the higher court of the canton of Zurich overturned the sentence on 12 May 2020 and rejected the process. However: in the two and a half years since the investigation against Boris began, the Kesb is no longer responsible for him, but for the children’s lawyer of the Canton of Zurich.
Horror being sent to the measurement center
Sefika Garibovic (58), an education expert and book author, is horrified when she learns of her former protégé’s accommodation at the measurement center. She had accompanied and advised the family for months. Garibovic had warned at the time to isolate Boris socially in this way.
She tells SEE: “Back then I found several schools that would have accepted Boris. The Kesb would also have participated. Only the assistant was against. It had a lot of power. Although he never saw Boris, he was allowed to decide everything. “The expert warns and feels remembered about the” Carlos case “:” Uitikon is not the right place for Boris. In the juvenile offender center, Carlos has become the which is today “.
Meanwhile more than 90 kilos
Boris, the troubled kid who struggled in kindergarten and school, has now become a real hunk. It weighs more than 90 kilos because it hardly moves anymore. Due to the isolation, his social skills also suffer.
Education expert Sefika Garibovic sees a large part of the problems in the adolescent’s heavy medication. She knows: “You get strong neuroleptics like Seroquel and Risperdal, which are actually approved for adult patients with schizophrenia and not for children. She moves a lot less because of the medication. “
Learning as a last chance?
Boris has already lost a considerable part of his youth. Can you make the leap to normal now? Depending on your environment, you have a chance to start training early. Probably the last chance.
The responsible juvenile lawyer does not publish anything about Boris’s treatment. In response to a VIEW request, she just writes: “The protection and education of young people are essential to juvenile criminal law.”
Boris’s mother also does not want to comment on her son’s mood and health to BLICK.
