Stan Wawrinka (ATP 17) will no longer be coached by Magnus Norman in the future. “After 8 great years, we decided to end the collaboration”, announced this Monday the French-speaking country to Instagram known. “Our partnership was incredibly strong, profitable and enormously successful.”

At the ATP tournament in Rome, where Wawrinka failed in the first round, the Swede accompanied the Swiss. Wawrinka won 3 Grand Slam titles with Norman: the 2014 Australian Open, 2015 Roland Garros and the 2016 US Open. He also advanced to position 3 in the world rankings.

Coach at Wawrinka since 2013

“Winning three Grand Slam tournaments changed my life and without him I would not have done it,” writes Wawrinka. The 35-year-old will thus enter the French Open, which starts next Monday, without his lifelong partner.

Norman had been Wawrinka’s coach since 2013. The collaboration was only interrupted for a few months in late 2017 when Wawrinka was recovering from knee surgery.
