The canton of Bern announced 50 more corona infections on Sunday. There were ten corona-infected people in Bern hospitals, three of them in the intensive care unit, one of whom had to be artificially ventilated.
Berna and Biel have the highest number of cases
There were 60 new infections in the canton of Bern on Saturday and 51 on Friday. If you look at the number of infections throughout the week, it shows that the cities of Bern and Biel are usually the most affected.
On average, 43 people were infected every day in the past week. If the number of infections remains almost as high, the canton of Bern is likely to introduce mandatory masks in stores soon.
The contagion criterion was soon met
District President and Chief Health Officer Pierre-Alain Schnegg (SVP) has set the threshold of 35 infections per day for two weeks as the criteria for the mask requirement.
