Juso Switzerland protested Saturday afternoon in front of the villas of billionaire Magdalena Martullo-Blocher in Meilen on Lake Zurich and billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli in the canton of Vaud. She calls for “fair taxes for the richest.”

Since the 99 percent initiative was launched about three years ago, inequality in Switzerland has worsened again, according to an announcement by Juso on Saturday. The National Council wants to debate the initiative next week.

The “camp” in front of the village in Meilen was soon closed, Juso Switzerland president Ronja Jansen told the Keystone-SDA news agency. The reason: they wanted to avoid an argument with Roberto Martullo, the husband of Magdalena, Christoph Blocher’s daughter. According to Kapo Zurich, there was no police operation.
