On Saturday, September 12, 2020, around 3:50 pm, a bicycle handlebar drove down Allerheiligenstrasse near Hägendorf. In the area of a curve, I wanted to avoid a car that was approaching and overtaking some cyclists uphill.
During the evasive maneuver, he collided with the railing, fell on it and fell down the steep embankment towards the Devil’s Throat. With the help of the SAC and REGA, he was rescued from the rugged terrain and flown to a hospital.
According to current information, he suffered moderate injuries.
The Solothurn canton police took away the 65-year-old driver’s license. Allerheiligenstrasse had to be closed for several hours.
