Will FC Thun find the right foot again?
No team has been eliminated from the Superliga in the round of 32 of the Swiss Cup. The toughest task awaits Lucerne on Sunday: a guest appearance at FC Thun.
Like another club in the upper house, FC Zurich intervenes in the cup competition on Sunday, at FC Chiasso, the last of the last Challenge League season. The YB, St. Gallen, Basel and Servette participating in the European Cup qualification are exempted from the sixteenth final.
Thun – Lucerne at the Stockhorn Arena could be a real hit. Here FC Thun, who despite an excellent overall performance in the second half of the season, had to return to the lower house after ten years, is FC Luzern, who also made a good impression for a long time in the spring with the new coach Fabio Celestini.
Despite bitter disappointment in Barrage’s games against Vaduz, the Thuners continue with coach Marc Schneider. So far, the shock in the team, as experienced by some relegated teams, has not been so strong that the Bernese, especially in home games, do not perform as well as in the second half of last season. Of the best players, only defender Basil Stillhart (to St. Gallen) and goalkeeper Guillaume Faivre (to YB) have left the club. Striker Simone Rapp switched back to Lausanne-Sport, but the long Ticino was not always the first choice in Thun’s attack. (sda)
