On Wednesday evening there was a traffic accident on Hergiswaldstrasse in Kriens Obernau. Two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A 36-year-old driver was on the Hergiswaldstrasse in the direction of Schwarzenberg when he lost control of his BMW after the Hergiswald Bridge, threw it down the road and crashed into several trees.
The car also captured a 24-year-old motorcycle driver traveling downhill. The motorcycle caught fire and the car stopped on an embankment.
The motorcycle driver was seriously injured in the accident. He had to be taken to the hospital in a Rega rescue helicopter. The 31-year-old passenger in the car was seriously injured and was taken to hospital by ambulance service. The driver was slightly injured in the accident. They took away his driver’s license. According to early police findings, the accident could be attributed to driving too fast.
The two vehicles were totaled. Several trees were also damaged. The total damage is estimated at 18,000 francs. Hergiswaldstrasse was closed to traffic for about four and a half hours.
