The American military is moving further and further away from its president! The army’s support for Donald Trump (74) has steadily declined over the past four years. According to a recent survey, only about 38 percent of soldiers, officers, and colleagues are satisfied with their commander-in-chief. Every second active service provider gives Donald Trump a bad report.
It is a poll that should especially hurt the White House. No other modern Republican president was as bad in the military as Trump two months before the presidential election.
Biden more popular than Trump
And Trump and his administration sought, superficially at least, the favor of the military. Shortly after taking office, the president increased the army’s budget by billions of dollars and, with the Space Force, established a sixth armed force in December 2019.
However: the US military would like a change in November: 41 percent of military personnel surveyed in August support Joe Biden (77) as president. Trump has cast 37 percent of the votes. For comparison: In August 2016, more than 40 percent of the military were in favor of Trump: Hillary Clinton (72) came in at a measly 20 percent.
General scolds Trump – video goes viral
Donald Trump is unlikely to be able to make any further progress in the US military Last week, “The Atlantic” reported that the president had insulted fallen soldiers in WWI as “losers” and “idiots” because they let themselves be killed. The White House denied the article and called it fake news, but the outcry in the United States was great.
The story gained more credibility after the AP news agency confirmed it from Pentagon circles over the weekend. At the same time, the video of a retired general went viral on social media.
Paul Eaton complained that he would be amazed if even “someone in the military” did not consider Trump himself a “fool” and a “loser.” At the end of the video, which received more than 2.5 million views on Twitter alone, General Eaton asks Americans to vote for Joe Biden.
