Cantonal police announced on Monday that 13 vehicles, including 12 passenger cars, with a total of more than 400 people, were searched at the Winterthur-Ohringen traffic police base on Schaffhauserstrasse for nine hours.
During the investigation, three men between the ages of 23 and 48 were arrested for violating the Immigration and Integration Law. Two of the three men were turned over to the Winterthur / Unterland prosecutor’s office. The third was released after police questioning.
In addition, the police confiscated three “bulky” bags of catering clothes on suspicion of violating customs law. A report is made against a travel company due to lack of a shipping license to the Federal Office of Transportation.
The controls were specifically aimed at incoming car companies. Specialists from the Federal Customs Administration supported the controls and deployed mobile luggage and X-ray machines for vehicles.
