A mother informed Solothurn City Police at 8:15 p.m. that she had missed her 11-year-old son for about 20 minutes. She would have searched everywhere, but couldn’t find it anywhere.

The city police moved to the place of residence and re-searched the area. “The mother said that her son likes to be in the water,” read a message from the city police.

Around the same time, a third person reported that there was a boy in the Aare on Römerstrasse who did not want to get out of the water. Together with the mother, the city police immediately went to Römerstrasse, where passersby were waiting. “When the patrol arrived, the boy moved away from the bank and sank into the water,” he continues.

A city policeman jumped into the Aare and was able to carry the boy ashore. After being checked at the citizens’ hospital, the 11-year-old was released back home unharmed. (egs)
