Michael Cohen, as personal attorney for US President Trump, cleared the ground behind his boss. He is now serving a prison sentence and has written a book that Trump should not like.

Maybe Michael Cohen would be on the loose long ago if he had kept quiet. His former boss, US President Donald Trump, recently demonstrated, using Roger Stone as an example, that loyal supporters can definitely count on a pardon if they have broken the law for Trump and been convicted.

But Cohen was not silent. And now he is serving a three-year prison sentence. However, due to the Corona crisis, he is currently not in jail, but under house arrest.

Cohen used the time to write a book. It will appear on the US market next Tuesday. Title: “Disleyal: A Memoir”. At 432 pages it describes “The True Story of President Donald J. Trump’s Former Personal Attorney,” as the subtitle says.

The Washington Post was the first to widely cite the book on Saturday night. It is now available to other US media as well. The really important news, obviously, is not in it. But some interesting appraisals and racy details.

For example, on Russian interference in the 2016 election: So far, Russia has certainly tried to harm Hillary Clinton and help Trump achieve victory. To this end, Russian officials have attempted to create direct channels in Trump’s election campaign. Trump himself has not yet been able to prove that he was aware of the contacts or even approved of them. Cohen now writes in his book that it was Trump who “made open and covert attempts” to get Russia to interfere in the elections in his favor. Trump is a huge admirer of Russian President Vladimir Putin. And that for extremely simple reasons. On the one hand, Trump mistakenly thinks that Putin is “the richest man in the world,” writes Cohen. On the other hand, he admires Putin because he has managed to “take over an entire nation and run it as if it were his personal company.”

An attic for Putin

According to Cohen, Trump did not want to pamper himself with Putin for another reason. During the election campaign, he dreamed that one day there might be another Trump Tower named after him on Moscow’s Red Square.

The building must be 120 floors, 30 floors must be reserved for a five-star hotel with a spa of the Ivanka Trump brand and for Trump restaurants. In addition, 230 high-end condominiums were planned for Russian oligarchs, among others. Part of the plan was also to provide the Russian president with an attic free of charge. Probably to convince him of the project, writes Cohen.

Cohen writes that his behavior could possibly be seen as unpatriotic or even betrayal was “irrelevant” to Trump. He used his entire presidential campaign to enrich himself even more.

Trump had repeatedly claimed that he had no trade deals with Russia. Cohen had initially confirmed this version to Congress, but later pleaded guilty to having lied to Congress. In the book, he now describes in detail how he tried to advance the Trump Tower project in Moscow until the fall of 2016.

Cohen has been convicted of this lie and the payment of secret money. Shortly before the 2016 election, he, by his own account on behalf of Trump, transferred secret money to nude model Stormy Daniels. The woman shouldn’t go public with her affair with Trump, at least not before the election. The payment to Daniels violated the Campaign Finance Act.

Cohen writes that Trump agreed and instructed him to pay Daniels $ 130,000 for his silence. He then worked with the Trump Organization’s chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, to develop a plan for how this payment could be covertly engineered. The solution was for Cohen to use a front company to transfer the money to Daniels’ attorney. Cohen initially provided the money from his own resources. After his inauguration, Trump reimbursed him part of the sum through false invoices.

The book is apparently peppered with other dirty details. Shortly before the electoral victory, for example, Trump gathered several evangelical leaders around him in New York, who put their hands on his shoulders in prayer. When the meeting ended, Trump reportedly said, “Can you believe this shit? Can you believe that people believe this shit? “

The big joke, Cohen writes, is that Trump has convinced many working-class whites in the Midwest that he cares about their well-being. “The truth is that nothing less interested him.”

Cohen also describes a series of racist comments from Trump. As a candidate, he is said to have once complained that the Hispanic population did not support him enough. “Like blacks, they are too stupid to vote for Trump,” Trump is said to have said. As for former President Barack Obama, Trump is reported to have said, “Name me a country that is run by a black person who is not a shit hole.”

The White House called everything in the book a lie. Trump’s spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said Michael Cohen was a denied attorney who lied to Congress. “He’s lost all credibility and it’s no wonder the last time he tried to cash in on his lies.”

Cohen served Trump as an attorney for years. He was, as he writes, part of a mafia system. He was Trump’s repairman, his dirty man.

Today Cohen comes to a clear conclusion. Trump is a “cheater, liar, con man, tyrant, racist, predator, impostor.” In other words, someone who shouldn’t have lost anything in the White House.

Cohen now wants to help ensure that Trump is not re-elected. In an interview with NBC News on Friday, he warned that Trump would “do anything and everything” to win the election. He is convinced that Trump would even manipulate the ballot or “start a war” to stay in office. Cohen’s biggest concern: that if Joe Biden wins, “there won’t be a peaceful power shift.”
