The crown rebels in Switzerland are launching a radical popular initiative. This is reported by the newspaper association “CH Media”. In its history, Switzerland has hardly seen a more radical initiative. The complete dismantling of protection measures against the new Covid-19 virus is apparently not enough. If the initiative were successful, the parliament would have to resign and there would be early elections, including the Federal Council.
The crisis in the crown paves the way for revolutionary ideas. The initiative comes from the environment around Vaudois banker and economist François de Siebenthal, who is also an honorary consul of the Philippines. The group apparently includes crown rebels from western Switzerland and also critics of the SwissCovid app, against which De Siebenthal helped start the referendum. According to the referendum text, “the Swiss people demand a total revision of the Swiss federal constitution.”
The initiators want to use the virus crisis to fundamentally change Switzerland. Not only must the protection measures of the crown be abolished, an unconditional basic income is required for all Swiss and all taxes and duties must be abolished. De Siebenthal, co-initiator of the initiative, criticized the Swiss government with harsh words: “The Federal Council carried out a coup in the crisis of the Crown. As in World War II, now we have to regain our freedoms. “
Are the crown rebels becoming a political force?
The state and authorities would finance themselves through a micro-tax of one per thousand per cashless transaction. Switzerland would also have to get out of debt money. Only the National Bank, which has been handed over to the population, is likely to generate money.
Such a radical initiative seems doomed to fail. But rebels and crown skeptics are becoming a problem in Switzerland. You are trying to train and establish yourself as a political force. Even constitutional doctors and lawyers are now warning that the government, in the name of the crisis, wants to save itself too many powers in the aftermath of the emergency law. (kes)
