The black man was shot multiple times by US police in Kenosha. Now he addresses the public with a message.
Jacob Blake sent a video message to the public two weeks after police shot him from a hospital bed in Wisconsin, US He may lose his life or the ability to walk in seconds, the now paralyzed African American said. “Please, I tell you, change your life out there,” the 29-year-old said in a video released Saturday night (local time) by his attorney Ben Crump. “We can stick together, make some money, and make everything easier for our people,” he said.
Blake said in the one minute clip that he was in great pain. “It hurts to breathe. It hurts to sleep. It hurts to turn from side to side. It hurts to eat. ”He added,“ You don’t want to have to deal with shit like that. ”Blake is paralyzed from the waist down from the gunshots.

Police officers shot Blake seven times in the back at point-blank range on August 23 as he tried to get into his car. All three of Blake’s sons were sitting in the car.
The incident, which was captured on video, caused horror across the country. In Kenosha there were protests against racism and police violence, including violent riots. The governor brought the National Guard to the scene to ensure safety. Since then, both President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger Joe Biden have visited the site. Republican Trump met there mainly with representatives of the security forces, Biden met with Blake’s family, among others.
