SVP’s Andrea Blum takes action against three other judges. She feels slandered.
Federal criminal judge Andrea Blum (SVP) has sued three members of the administrative commission of the federal court for defamation. These are President of the Federal Court Ulrich Meyer (SP), Vice President Martha Niquille (CVP), and Federal Judge Yves Donzallaz (SVP).
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office decided to appoint an extraordinary prosecutor to process this criminal complaint. This should exclude any appearance of bias. This is because federal prosecutors meet federal criminal judges in court proceedings.
The aforementioned criminal complaint was received by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office on July 20. Ulrich Weder was appointed extraordinary prosecutor on August 5. The federal prosecutor’s office confirmed information from CH Media on Saturday. Federal judges have immunity. If they are to be investigated, Parliament should repeal them first.
The three accused federal judges investigated the disagreements in federal criminal court in an oversight report released in April. According to the newspaper report, they raised accusations against Blum. She reportedly brought unsolved problems within the court through her party colleague Pirmin Schwander to the National Council. Among other things, it is now being discussed whether the term breach of official secrecy is appropriate in this case or not. Blum has demanded that the report be corrected, which according to the Federal Supreme Court also allows “misinterpretations.” She also reported Meyer according to CH Media for coercion. It’s about sexist sayings.
