In a collision between a passenger car and a truck on the A4 in Adlikon near Andelfingen on Friday afternoon (4/4/20), two people were seriously injured and one was slightly injured.
Shortly before 5:30 pm, a 51-year-old driver drove his car down the A4 in the direction of Kleinandelfingen. In a slight left turn he got into the opposite lane for reasons unknown until now. His car collided with an oncoming truck. The driver of the passenger car and his 33-year-old passenger were seriously injured as a result of the violent collision. The 19-year-old passenger of the truck was slightly injured in this accident. The 23-year-old driver was unhurt.
The injured were treated at the scene by two emergency physicians and then transferred to hospitals by ambulance and helicopter.
The cause of the accident is currently unknown. It will be cleared up by the Zurich Canton Police in cooperation with the Winterthur / Unterland Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Due to the accident, the affected section of the A4 had to be closed to traffic on both sides for about three hours. The responsible fire brigade established a diversion.
