A 73-year-old woman deviated from the hiking trail on Thursday as she was coming down from the Grosse Mythen in Schwyz and fell about 25 meters. She was injured so badly that she died at the scene of the accident.
The woman was already in the lower area of the official hiking trail around 6 p.m. when the accident occurred, a spokesman for the Schwyz cantonal police said when asked on Friday. The terrain is very steep. It is unclear why the woman lost her way. Rega was in action.
