- The case in Grenchen SO made national news in early July: A young woman attended two events in Grenchen SO despite having Covid-19. Then 280 people were quarantined.
- The woman tested positive for the corona virus and, according to the contact tracing team, had to remain in isolation at her home. But she did not obey.
- The woman defended herself through a lawyer and said that it was a misunderstanding that was due to official information.
- But the woman’s complaint has now been rejected. The canton of Solothurn (Contact Tracing Team) has reported correctly, says the Department of the Interior.
The Solothurn Canton Department of the Interior wants nothing to do with disinformation. His legal service filed a criminal complaint against the woman after the “party despite the crown incident” in Grenchen. The woman, for her part, says that she had not felt any symptoms before and asked the canton if the isolation could end sooner. He had been informed that the isolation had ended earlier in this situation.
Without an early end of isolation
However, the canton of Solothurn now declares that no such note was created after the telephone conversation with contact trackers. “Due to standardized processes within the contact tracing team, it can be ruled out that the person in question was verbally confirmed that the isolation had ended earlier,” writes the canton. Also, a written confirmation (email) that this did not happen is required for a tailored arrangement.
Therefore, the supervisor’s complaint is off the table. The prosecutor’s process is still ongoing. The woman could have broken the epidemic law. She faces a fine of several thousand francs.
