Just in time for the start of the Swiss National Team’s League of Nations next Thursday against Ukraine, SFV unveiled the new national team jersey. This time around, the design is kept pretty simple: compared to its predecessor, the red seems to have gotten a bit darker, the usual white accent a bit less. The thick stripe on the shoulder and the thin on the chest come in wine red for the first time.
Yann Sommer’s goalkeeper jersey has a special look: the neck is unusually high. Gladbach’s goalkeeper should catch the ball but not get upset.
For the first time in ten months, the national team is playing a competitive game again this week. Next Thursday Granit Xhaka and Co. will play against Ukraine as part of the Nations League in Lviv, on Sunday there will be a prestigious duel with Germany in Basel. (pre)
