Even before the 2019/20 Swiss Cup was decided, the next joint competition had already started.
The delay in the Swiss football calendar due to the crown pandemic, which had led to a long hiatus, sparked curiosity. In the co-competition two seasons were mixed.
Even before YB’s cup win was certain, the games of the first main round took place this weekend (see list below).
Grace period for the upper class
At the start of the 2020/21 Swiss Cup, the lower classes are still among them. The Challenge League and Super League clubs only intervene from the 2nd round (September 11 to 13). The 4 representatives of the Swiss European Cup (YB, St. Gallen, FCB and Servette) enjoy an even longer grace period. You enter the competition directly in the round of 16, which are only available for the 9./10. February 2021. The 2021 final is scheduled for Pentecost Monday, May 24.
