The “Bar 48” in Biel will be closed on Saturday by order of a doctor from the canton. This is because six positive corona cases occurred relative to the bar in one week. The canton of Bern announced this on Sunday.

Now the governor’s office will verify the implementation of the protection concept and regular guest registration. At the earliest, the bar should reopen, according to a press release. The canton reserves the right to lodge a complaint against the bar association.

Cases at UMA center

For a few days, three young people have been in isolation at the Center for Asylum Seekers Unaccompanied Minors (UMA) in Huttwil because they tested positive for the corona virus, as Sunday’s message said. The 27 youths in the collective accommodation, as well as 14 supervisors and 4 teachers were quarantined.

On Friday, the cantonal medical office examined the youth and caregivers. Of the 24 adolescents evaluated, 13 are currently positive and nine negative, two tests in adolescents are still pending. Results for supervisors are still pending.
