Drama for a train station employee in Britain! Belly Mujinga († 47) became infected with the coronavirus while working at London Victoria Station. He died a few days later, the incident happened seven weeks ago, but only now has the tragic case been made public.
Accordingly, on March 22, the ticket vendor was deliberately spit and coughed by a man infected with the coronavirus. His colleague, who was with Mujinga in front of the ticket office in the station lobby at the time of the incident, also became infected with the coronavirus during the spit attack.
Corona victim Belly Mujinga († 47) was already suffering from respiratory problems.
“The man coughed and told them he had the virus,” said the British transport union TSSA. Just a few days later, both women contracted the virus.
While Mujinga’s colleague is recovering from the virus infection, a fight for survival begins for the 47-year-old man. Because the mother of an 11-year-old daughter suffers from a rare lung disease, she therefore had respiratory problems prior to crown infection and was therefore being treated.
“Terrible, person you love to lose so fast”
On April 2, his condition rapidly deteriorated. She has to be admitted to Barnet Hospital in North London with an ambulance. It hangs on a fan. But on April 5, exactly two weeks after the spitting attack at Victoria Station, Mujinga dies.
“It is terrible to lose the person you love so quickly,” her husband Lusamba Mujinga (60) tells “Espejo.” Belly and Lusama came to the United Kingdom as political refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo because they were persecuted in their homeland. They had built a life in London. But now the family is devastated.
«My daughter Ingrid does not understand what happened»
Daughter Ingrid (11) last spoke to her mother by video call when she was at Barnet Hospital. But towards the end, Belly Mujinga was too weak to speak.
“My daughter Ingrid just doesn’t understand what happened and that we can never be together again,” says the former Lusamba warehouse worker. Tragic: The family couldn’t even say goodbye.
TSSA’s transport union is also appalled at the death of member Belly Mujinga. “We are shocked and shaken by Belly’s death. She is one of too many front-line workers who lost their lives to the coronavirus, “says TSSA Secretary General Manuel Cortés. The UK traffic police have launched an investigation into the case. But there are still no traces of the Corona Spucker. (wheel)
