Several hundred people took to the streets of Bern, Zurich, Basel and St. Gallen for fundamental rights.
Bern Several hundred people have demonstrated in the capital against the crown measures. They demanded “more personal responsibility.” Because many older people, families, and children were among the participants, the police decided not to use force.
Through the loudspeakers, security forces repeatedly called protesters on the edge of the Bundesplatz and Bärenplatz to end the rally. The announcements were recognized with whistling concerts and boos.
The police finally limited themselves to checking the people and giving instructions. “There will also be accusations,” announced the city’s security director, Reto Nause.
The protest was mainly directed against the crown measures, which are supposed to violate fundamental rights. “Against progressive disempowerment” was on one banner, “For freedom and personal responsibility” on another. A protester called for “an honest and impartial explanation of the crown lie.”
Zurich More than 100 people gathered at Sechseläutenplatz on Saturday afternoon and protested against the closure. The police deployed with several patrol cars.
A corresponding operation is underway at Sechseläutenplatz near Bellevue, a spokesman for the Zurich city police said on request. Accumulations of more than five people are currently not allowed under Federal Council Covid Ordinance 19.
It is estimated that between one hundred and two hundred people gathered at Sechseläutenplatz. Among other things, they called for the emergency measures to be lifted.
Basel: Around a hundred people gathered at the knee of the Rhine in the market square to draw attention to fundamental rights during the Corona crisis. Participants divided into small groups in the market and kept the minimum distance. The police did not intervene. At around 3:15 p.m., the assembly broke up.
Basel police were aware of the action, as the media spokesman for the Basel Department of Justice and Security requested. “When we got to the site to seek a discussion with the participants and let them know that this would not work, the meeting was dissolved again,” the spokesperson said.
St. Gall By morning, the St. Gallen city police had already dissolved an action of around 80 people against Federal Council measures to combat the coronavirus. Protesters have violated the Covid 19 regulation, which prohibits meetings and provides for a distance of two meters, according to a police report.
Other than that, the action would have had to be approved. The dissolution of the demonstration was peaceful. Because “they did not show any idea”, the police had the personal data of around a dozen people. You would have to face a complaint about a violation of the Covid 19 regulation and the obligation to obtain a permit.
