The basis is the number of address requests on Apple maps, as announced by the iPhone group on Tuesday. The change has been reported since January 13 of this year.
According to Apple, the data covers larger cities, as well as 63 countries and regions. Based on trends in public transportation, for example, Apple calculated that car traffic in Berlin decreased by 54 percent and in Munich by 64 percent.
The Internet group uses anonymous data from users who have their whereabouts registered in their Google profiles.
At Apple, data in the map service, such as search terms, breadcrumbs, and traffic information, is tied to random identifiers so that no conclusions can be drawn about individual users.
