Introducing Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones: technical data and prices

The first of the three newly launched smartphones is the Redmi Note 9 Pro. If you already know this name: Xiaomi already introduced a smartphone with this name in China in early March. However, this is available as Redmi Note 9S in Germany. The Redmi Note 9 Pro now presented is a different smartphone.

Redmi Note 9 Pro

With the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi presents a true mid-range star. The smartphone is almost identical in construction to the Redmi Note 9S, which only launched earlier in the week, but has been improved on certain points.

Both smartphones are based on the identical 6.67-inch Full HD screen with a hole for the front camera in the middle of the status bar. Otherwise, the two smartphones do not differ externally. Instead of Aurora Blue in the 9S, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is available in Tropical Green.

Nothing has changed with the processor. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is also based on the new Snapdragon 720G, which performed slightly better than the 730G in the test. Compared to the Redmi Note 9S, only the main camera has been upgraded from a 48-megapixel sensor to a 64-megapixel sensor. The 16-megapixel front camera remains intact.

Faster loading

The 5020 mAh battery of the Redmi Note 9 Pro already convinced us in the test of the Redmi Note 9S with a long runtime. However, the loading time has now been improved. Instead of 18 watts, the Redmi Note 9 Pro charges 30 watts. You should be able to charge the smartphone battery 50 percent in 30 minutes. A suitable power supply is included.

Conclusion: optimized in the right places

With the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi has improved the Redmi Note 9S at crucial points and introduced a really good smartphone at an affordable price.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro will be available starting in mid-May at a price of $ 269 for the version with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Memory that doubles to 128 gigabytes costs $ 30 more. German prices and an exact date for market launch are not yet known, they should follow at a later date.

Redmi Note 9

The Redmi Note 9 is slightly smaller than the Pro model and comes with a weaker MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The Full HD screen measures 6.53 inches and has a hole for the front camera in the upper left corner. Like the Pro model, the Redmi Note 9 offers NFC support, a headphone jack, and an infrared blaster.

Stripped camera

With the four built-in cameras, the Redmi Note 9 is inferior to the larger models. This smartphone comes with a 48 megapixel sensor (f / 1.8 aperture), an ultra wide-angle lens (8 megapixels, f / 2.2 aperture), a macro camera (2 megapixel), and a depth sensor (2 megapixel) to use The front camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels.

The Redmi Note 9 is said to be on the shelves of retailers starting at $ 199. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite is a cheaper version of the Mi Note 10. It was introduced last year. Except for the camera, you have to make relatively few compromises with the Lite version of the Mi Note 10. The large battery with a capacity of 5260 mAh with 30-watt quick change was also adopted.

Same processor

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite uses the same Snapdragon 730G processor as the more expensive model. The working memory is also identical to 6 GB. However, the memory in the basic version is only 64 GB. However, a 128GB version should also be available. Both smartphones offer NFC for Google Pay and Co, an infrared blaster, and a headphone jack.

Curved screen

The Mi Note 10 Lite is in no way inferior to the most expensive model in terms of display. Both rely on a 6.47-inch AMOLED screen with a fingerprint sensor underneath. The Mi Note 10 Lite offers almost the same technical data on paper as the significantly more expensive Mi Note 10. Only the camera was saved. So if you put less value on these, you can save a lot here.

The Mi Note 10 Lite will be available in Glacier White, Midnight Black and Nebula Purple colors starting in mid-May. The version with 64 gigabytes of storage costs 349 euros. Doubling the memory to 128 gigabytes costs 50 euros more. Memory expansion via microSD card is not supported.
