For reasons that are still unknown, a car driver collided with the central barrier and a car on the A1 towards Zurich. One person was seriously injured.

The A1 motorway between Wettingen-Ost AG and Dietikon ZH was temporarily closed in both directions on Wednesday morning after an accident. The reason was a car accident with a follow-up collision in the Zurich lane.

In the 9:50 am crash at Spreitenbach AG, a 72-year-old passenger was seriously injured, according to Aargau canton police. A rescue helicopter took the man to hospital. The road had to be closed so that the helicopter could land.

The man was sitting in the car of a 72-year-old driver. It had collided with the central barrier for reasons still unknown. When the driver wanted to put his car back into traffic, a 41-year-old driver hit the woman’s car with his vehicle.
