52 Basel bidder quarantined after visiting cafe

As of Thursday, October 8, as of June 1, 2020, a total of 366 positive test results from people living in the canton of Basel-Landschaft were known in the Basel area. There are currently 61 people in isolation and 671 people in quarantine, authorities say.

That’s 36 more cases than a week ago and 223 more people in quarantine than last Thursday. In the previous week, 1,495 PCR tests were performed, of which 2.5 percent were positive. So far, a total of 1,248 people in the canton have contracted the virus. That’s 13 more than the day before.

52 people in quarantine after the fall in Reinach

Following the well-known case in a Basel bar, nine people are in quarantine in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, authorities say. On Monday, a visitor to the Bar Rouge was found to be infected.

One person also tested positive after visiting a cafe at the merchandise market in Reinach. 52 people had to be quarantined. After a positive case at a private birthday party in a restaurant, 25 people are in quarantine.

Case in the asylum residence in Aesch

The new coronavirus was detected in a person at the asylum residence in Aesch. It is now isolated and well. The other inhabitants of the asylum remain in quarantine for a few days and are cared for. There are currently no indications that there have been further transmission of the coronavirus outside the bedroom. All measures were initiated in consultation with the canton’s medical service.

A student at the Gestadeckschulhaus in Liestal was mildly symptomatic for a few days before the break and stayed away from class. She returned to school on the last day of school and subsequently had symptoms again. As the quarantine period had expired, parents were advised to pay special attention to possible symptoms in their children. To date, we are not aware of any subsequent cases.

Currently, the authorities are not aware of any cases of residents in nursing homes and for the elderly.
