Now it’s back: on Monday, the Zurich IT company Starmind announced that Meyer had been elected chairman of the board of directors. Starmind is based on the development of artificial intelligence and sells it to large organizations. Clients include Swisscom, the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
At the same time, Meyer informed the media. In an interview with “NZZ”, also published on Monday, he announced that he had started his own business and, in addition to his board activities, was advising companies such as “Senior Advisor”. Meyer had left his position at SBB on April 1 for new CEO Vincent Ducrot, but was still on SBB’s payroll until the end of September. The politicians later accused him of having received “450,000 francs for doing nothing.”
Criticisms of Meyer were also strong because the current shortage of train drivers at SBB, which has led to the temporary closure of lines in regional traffic, had started under his leadership. In an interview with NZZ, Meyer said: “I will take responsibility.” In addition to the numerous construction sites, the reason for the shortage is the sharp increase in event traffic.
