On Thursday, Simon Ammann still missed qualifying for the New Year’s competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. On Sunday he will compete again in Innsbruck. In qualifying for the circuit’s third jump, the 39-year-old finished 44th with a width of 112.5 m. In a knockout match, Ammann has to deal with second-place German Karl Geiger.
