Like Gregor Deschwanden, Toggenburger is in the third jump of the Four Hills Tournament.
On Thursday, Simon Ammann still missed qualifying for the New Year’s competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. On Sunday he will compete again in Innsbruck. In qualifying for the circuit’s third jump, the 39-year-old finished 44th with a width of 112.5 m. In a knockout match, Ammann has to deal with second-place German Karl Geiger.
Gregor Deschwanden also qualified. With a jump of 117.5 m, Lucerna is ranked 37. Their rival on Sunday is Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang. Dominik Peter is not present at the competition.
Granerud with the best size
Halvor Egner Granerud showed the best jump in qualifying. The Norwegian general leader landed at 129 m. Poles Dawid Kubacki and Kamil Stoch, along with Geiger Granerud’s toughest competitors for the overall victory, took third and fifth place.
