32 nations will compete in the final “Down Under” tournament in the summer of 2023, to be held in parallel in Australia and New Zealand. So far, 24 teams have been admitted to the Women’s World Cup. The European continent is also pleased with the increase: while 9 starting places could still be claimed in 2019, now 11 European teams can be included. Uefa received the largest contingent of all the associations.

Another European team also has a chance to secure qualification in the playoffs. In the so-called blitz, 10 teams from all confederations compete for the remaining 3 tickets.

Co-hosts are always there

The Swiss team was last, and at the same time for the first time, represented at the 2015 World Cup in Canada. The 0: 1 finish in the round of 16 against the hosts meant the end.

Asia will receive 6 direct qualification places in the future, Africa and North and Central America 4 each, South America 3. For Oceania, New Zealand will have a direct place. Co-host Australia is there too.
