2020 US Election – Third Election Night: Biden Catch Up, Trump Fraud Allegations – News

The third election night has not yet resulted in a decision in the US election. Democratic challenger Joe Biden is still on his way to success and has been able to regain ground in several swing states against incumbent Donald Trump. In Pennsylvania and Georgia, Biden is catching up remarkably with Trump’s leadership, while card votes continue to be counted there.

There are new results from all open states except Alaska, which traditionally goes to the Republicans (as of 6am CET):

Trump: 48.5 percent
Biden: 50.1 percent
Difference: 46,257 votes
90 percent of electoral districts are counted

Trump: 49.4 percent
Biden: 49.4 percent
Difference: 1,775 votes in favor of Trump
99 percent of electoral districts are counted

Trump: 48.5 percent
Biden: 49.4 percent
Difference: 11,438 votes
89 percent of electoral districts are counted

Trump: 50.0 percent
Biden: 48.6 percent
Difference: 76,701 votes
95 percent of electoral districts are counted

Trump: 49.5 percent
Biden: 49.2 percent
Difference: 26,132 votes
95 percent of electoral districts are counted

During the night, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, again delivered an accusatory speech. There he repeatedly spoke of widespread fraud, attacked poll workers, and spoke of “horror stories” about rape, especially in mail ballots. OSCE election observers found no irregularities either on Election Day or in voting by mail in the United States.

Experts noted that Democratic voters vote by mail more often than supporters of Trump Republicans. Since absentee votes are generally counted later in the US, this explains why Biden has won over the course of the count.

Party colleague accuses Trump of calculation

For his statements, Trump had to receive harsh criticism from members of his party. “There is no justification for the president’s comments tonight that are undermining our democratic process,” Maryland Republican Gov. Larry Hogan wrote on Twitter. In an interview, he accused Trump and his side of having set the stage for the current approach, questioning the results, with warnings about voting by mail. Hogan is the president of the National Governors Association.

Still, Trump wants to challenge the election if he really loses it. Threatens a wave of lawsuits.

How Joe Biden Wins the American Election:

  • Joe Biden has to win Pennsylvania (20 voters) or two other states.
  • For example, if Arizona (11 voters) and Nevada (6 voters) win, they will move into the White House.
  • In Georgia (16 voters), Biden has also not been defeated.

How Donald Trump wins the US election:

  • Donald Trump is only allowed to lose one more state, but in no case the state of Pennsylvania (20 electorates).
