Shortly after 8:30 pm on Christmas Day, a 20-year-old man was mugged on Bettingerstrasse in Riehen. He was injured, as announced by the Basel prosecutor.
Previous investigations by the prosecution’s criminal police showed that the 20-year-old had encountered a stranger on Meierweg. As a result, an argument broke out in which the stranger injured the victim and stole her backpack. The author then fled in the direction of Riehen train station.
Police are looking for witnesses
An immediate chase was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the victim had to be admitted to the emergency station by the Basel-Stadt ambulance.
Police seek:
- A stranger, about 25 years old, about 180 cm tall, black skin, medium length black hair, dreadlock hairstyle, wearing a brown-beige jacket.
The exact course of events has not yet been clarified and is the subject of investigations by the criminal police. The authorities ask people who can provide relevant information to contact the criminal investigation department of the Public Prosecutor’s Office or the nearest police station.
