Affected resident in hospital
According to initial findings, an unknown container exploded on one of the balconies of the affected apartment building. According to a reporter reader, the explosion was quite strong: “We were scared and saw the smoke rise.” After that, people walking down the street ran to the affected house. “We speculate whether gas from a grill had exploded,” continues the reader-reporter. Then the large contingent of rescuers opened and the road was closed.
The Zurich Forensic Institute was also present.
The resident was injured in the explosion and had to be taken to the hospital with the ambulance. According to the Schaffhausen police, the exact cause of the explosion and what the object was is the subject of the ongoing investigation.

As announced by the Schaffhausen police on Saturday, several members of the Schaffhausen city fire department, the emergency services of the Schaffhausen hospitals, an employee of the interchantal laboratory, two employees of the Zurich Forensic Institute and seven police officers from Schaffhausen were on duty.
