A drunk driver ran off the road in Buus on Sunday and ended up in the meadow. The handlebar remained unharmed.

The driver must now await criminal prosecution. The 51-year-old man drove shortly after 1.30 pm on the main Maisprach road in the direction of Buus. Shortly before entering the village, he entered the meadow on the right side of the road and collided with a wall. As a result, the car took off, landed on the meadow again and stopped after 50 meters, as announced by the Basel police on Monday.

An alcohol test on the driver showed a value of 1.32 milligrams of alcohol per liter of breath. This corresponds to about 2.6 per thousand. Furthermore, it turned out that the accident victim does not have a driver’s license. It is sent to the Public Ministry.
