Only 17 seats are restricted: SBB reorganization is less than expected
According to a newspaper report, the SBB of the Swiss Federal Railways is planning a smaller reorganization in passenger transport than originally supposed. This was reported on Monday by Tages-Anzeiger from Zurich on Monday.
According to the October 2018 plans, around 400 jobs should be relocated to another location. Most of the changes would have affected the Olten site. The railway organization wanted to move about 200 jobs from Bern and Zurich to zero kilometers from the railway nation, the newspaper said.

Of the announced staff shifts, only 80 jobs remained. The project has been largely resized. When the main change of 200 people is planned, only 17 jobs will be affected, the Zurich newspaper continued.
The SBB confirmed the adjustments to the newspaper. “After reviewing the concept, we decided that moving from Bern to Olten only made sense for a small part of the functions,” the newspaper quoted an SBB spokesperson as saying.
When federal railroads began the planning process for further development of passenger transportation, the increasingly tense staff situation and workload relative to 2019 were not yet known, it was said. That is why the SBB had made the appropriate priorities. (sda)
