1000 people at the anti-crown demonstration laughing, most without a mask: the police do not intervene
A wreath demonstration took place in Lachen on Saturday. The organizer must wait for a report.
On Saturday afternoon, an approved rally against the tightening of the crown measures was held at Joachim-Raff-Platz in Lachen. Most of the around 1,000 participants did not comply with the obligation to wear a mask, as announced by the police of the canton of Schwyz on Saturday night. The rally ended after about two hours. It was peaceful. There was no material damage. There were no arrests.
The Schwyz canton police were ready in the background, they waived the obligation to wear masks. Police spokesman Florian Grossmann justified it with proportionality, since there were also many families with children among the participants. “The organizer asked the protesters several times to wear a mask,” Grossmann said upon request. Most of the protesters did not follow this request.
The rally organizer must now wait for a complaint. One of the conditions that was linked to the permit was compliance with the obligation to wear a mask. The organizer is the Urkantons Alliance for Sensible Crown Policy. The motto of the demonstration was “Together for freedom and fundamental rights, against the dictatorship of the Crown!” In addition to National Councilor SVP Pirmin Schwander, satirists Andreas Thiel and Daniel Trappitsch, President of the Impfentscheid Network, also gave a speech.
