- FC Lugano celebrate a 1-0 win at Lausanne-Sport.
- While Ticino remains undefeated, the Vaudois suffer the first defeat.
- Thanks to the third win of the season, Lugano is, at least temporarily, at the top of the table.
- In the other game on Saturday, FCZ celebrated a 2-0 home win against Lucerne.
For Lausanne-Sport, the last appearance at Pontaise ended in disappointment. Against Lugano, the Vaudois defeated at Dernière in the venerable stadium by 0: 1. Now the transfer to La Tuilière takes place. They also suffered the first loss of the season.
Meanwhile, Lugano maintained his undefeated status and took the lead thanks to his third win of the season. However, the Young Boys or St. Gallen have a chance to replace Ticino at the top in a direct duel on Sunday.
Lugano focuses on defense after opening goal
Mijat Maric scored the decisive goal for Luganesi in the 11th minute. After Elton Monteiro’s foul on Numa Lavanchy, the defender converted the penalty to 1-0. As a result, the guests focused primarily on a disciplined defense. However, their lives were made easier thanks to an uninspired appearance from the Lausanne team.
Zekhnini misses Baumann
The hosts had the best chance to equalize in the 52nd minute: after a cross from the left, Rafik Zekhnini put the ball into the goal. Lugano goalkeeper Noam Baumann rejected it forcefully. Despite great efforts, Giorgio Contini’s team found little means against a well-defended rival.
After the international break, Lugano will visit Servette in the eighth round on November 22. Lausanne meets St. Gallen away from home the same day.
