Swiss couple names daughter of internet provider to run free Wi-Fi for 18 years

A Swiss dad thinks he has a worse name for his baby girl than Twifia.

A couple in Switzerland have chosen to name their daughter after their internet service provider, while the company offers 18 years of free service.

According to a local newspaper, the internet provider, Blikke, promised free Wi-Fi for 18 years to any family who named their child Twifia or Twifius.

Initially, an unnamed Swiss couple in their 30s and 35s reported that it was a joke. However, the sooner Dad thought about it, the more he began to like the “unique moniker”.

The couple admitted to feeling a little ashamed of giving their daughter the middle name of an internet provider.

Dad told Blick, “The longer I thought about it, the more unique the name became to me. “It simply came to our notice then. And more often than not we say ‘Twifia’, the name we hear is heartfelt! “

The savings of not paying for the internet every month are in the report of using it when their daughter turns 18.

Twifia’s father admitted that the couple was “a little embarrassed” by the allegations that the couple had “sold our baby’s name”. However, he noted that Twifia is the girl’s middle name, not her first name, which still counts for free Wi-Fi promotions.
