Despite the global health and economic situation, it seems that August will be the month soon for smartphones. The first week was marked by no less than three major announcements, the little ones did not count, and the train has not stopped yet. In just a few days, one of the next most innovative devices of the Android world could finally be announced, with the Microsoft Surface Duo giving the Galaxy Z Fold 2 potentially some tough competition, even if only in attention .
To be honest, the Surface Duo is far from the first dual-screen Android device to hit the market and hopefully it will not be the first. From the Sony Tablet P to the Kyocera Echo to the LG V60 ThinQ Dual Screen, manufacturers have been trying for years to solve the problem of screen space without having to resort to the expensive yet admit flexible flexible displays. However, Microsoft may be the first to really go all-in on the concept.
The Android-based Surface Duo was announced early last year to launch “later in 2020”, but then it was rumored that it would be released much earlier, in July itself. Of course, that never happened, and there were rumors then that it could be delayed until 2021. For those hoping to see the device soon, there may be a few days well, but a few days away, on Wednesday to be exact.
Of course, it can also be some bad news, with Microsoft preparing MVPs for some news about a delay at last. Given the company’s own executives plaguing the device, however, only some major disaster would make that disappointing news a reality. AT & T’s own website even accidentally leaked the image above, again citing its difficult launch.
We’ve heard a lot about the Surface Duo before, because Microsoft itself was not that secret, and it has formed a mixed bag of last year’s specs with tomorrow’s features. Of course, the success of the phone will depend heavily on the software experience of the Surface Duo and especially its price tag.
