Suez Canal play – and a small bulldozer – inspired memes | Egypt

IT is the story of David and Goliath of our time: one of the world’s largest container ships got stuck in the Suez Canal, blocking a passage through which 12% of the world’s trade passes – and it was a very small bulldozer sent to rescue it.

, Naline, slow dynamic crisis turned into a quick learning experience: memes 101. Excessive theme was futility: working in the face of not having a number of things not to do; 1,400 stimulus tests in response to a coronavirus epidemic; Drinking on the face of “the existence of endless, crushing weights”.

Austin Stein Powers was the initial reference, thanks to a scene in which a British spy tries to make a U-turn in a narrow passage.

Some were able to combine the crisis with their own traffic and parking-induced stress:

Some turned to poetry:

Others resorted to impurity:

The ship was partially diverted by noon on Wednesday, Dubai-based Marine Services GAC said, citing Canal Authority information. “Fleet and traffic are expected to resume as soon as the ship is relocated,” it said on its website.

But ship broker Brammer told the agency France-Presse that moving the ship could take some time. If the tugboats are unable to pull it freely, the container may have to be unloaded to lighten the vessel, which, Brammer said, “takes days, maybe weeks.”
