Students in the United States launch ‘Covid-19 Parties’ to be rewarded

It has been more than three months that people from all over the world have stayed at home and have tried all precautions to stay safe from the coronavirus. Still, more than five lakh people have allegedly succumbed to it. And in the course of us following the rules of the pandemic, we have seen many ‘covidiots’ who break the rules and put lives at risk.

But now, US students have found a new way to deliberately become infected with the virus. According to a Times Now report, a group of Alabama students threw a ‘COVID-19 party’ with the intention of infecting others. But this is not an isolated case, such parties have now become common in Tuscaloosa. Covid-19 positive patients and students who are safe from the virus are invited to these parts to intentionally infect the virus.

City Councilwoman Sonya McKinstry told CNN: “At first we thought it was a type of rumor. We did a little research, not only did the doctor’s offices confirm it, but the state confirmed that they also had the same information. ”

And surprisingly, the person who gets infected first gets a pot of money raised from ticket sales.

“They put money in a pot and try to get COVID. Whoever gets the virus first takes the pot. Has no sense.”

Fortunately, authorities have been put on high alert and are tracking more of those parties supposedly attended by University of Alabama students.

“It makes me furious. Furious that something so serious and deadly is taken for granted. Not only is it irresponsible, but you could get the virus and take it home with your parents or grandparents, “said McKinstry. She further added:

“This is not political. This is a public health problem. People are dying and there is no cure. We have to do everything possible to save as many lives as possible. “

Well, I can’t accept the fact that even after losing many people to the pandemic, people are doing something as callous and careless as this.
