In the fight between the last two unbeaten teams of the AFC, the visiting Steelers dominated all three stages during the first half, taking a 24-7 lead in the meantime. Ben Rothlisberger threw two half-touch down passes to Deonti Johnson, while Derrick Henry reached just 27 yards during the first 30 minutes of the game in Pittsburgh’s defense. James Connor ran for 60 yards, while Benny Snell scored on a one-yard touchdown run in Pittsburgh’s second possession.

Pittsburgh, who quickly took a 14-0 lead, finished third on their first two drives 7-of-7 as the Stilters outscored the Titans 161-1 in the first 18 minutes of the game. Tennessee were able to go on board in their second possession, as Ryan Tennheel hit Corey Davis for a four-yard touchdown. Pittsburgh reacted with a second score, a 24-yard run and an 18-yard catch by Connor to set Chris Boswell’s 38-yard field goal. After the second Titans punt, Johnson had another touchdown, returning a 58-yard punt by Ray-Ray McCloud, a nine-yard pass from Rothlisburger.
