After weeks of rumors, Steam’s Summer Sale is officially live. There are hundreds of discounted titles, and an unusually high percentage of them are worth it. This includes some games from two or three years ago that you may have missed, but also some AAA games from the last six months.
Analyze the sale and you will surely find something you have wanted to play. But if you don’t have time to do that right now, here are our notable game picks that are discounted now. The summer offer will last until July 9.
id Software / Bethesda
Doom Eternal launched just a few months ago, in March, making this 50% discount even sweeter. Eternal is a sequel to the 2016 Doom reboot, in which the series possibly became more twisted than ever. There are some decent platforms in Eternal, but it’s mostly about slaying demons. You can get this stress relief at half the price until July 9.
Valve
Here’s another new AAA game on the list. Half-Life: Alyx is a virtual reality game that takes place between the first and second Half-Life titles. Not only is it the best reason to have virtual reality hardware right now, but it’s also a fantastic game in its own right.
Mobius Digital
Outer Wilds is an adventure / puzzle game that is about discovery. You are on a distant planet, with 22 minutes before the sun supernovates and destroys anything. Fortunately, you are caught in a timeloop. In Outer Wilds, you will slowly discover how to save the world: 22 minutes at a time. It sounds strange, but it was one of the most acclaimed games of 2019.
Capcom
So The Last of Us Part 2 is available and it’s amazing. But what if you’re looking for a horror experience and don’t have a PlayStation 4? Don’t worry, Resident Evil 2, a great new version of the 1998 PlayStation 1 game, is 50% off until July 9.
EA
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a rare type of game. It’s based on a very popular franchise, but it’s also … really good. You really have to soak up licensed games when you can. One of the biggest box office hits of late 2019, it costs $ 30 through July 9.

If you are looking for more indie fair, Celeste is famous for being difficult and exciting. It was released in 2018, so you’ve probably heard a lot about it already. If this 2D platformer has been on your To Play list, now is the time to start. Celeste has a 50% discount until July 9.

Another fantastic standalone game, Hollow Knight is a Metroidvania style game that will take you around 25 hours to overcome. It’s challenging, it looks great, and you can get it now for under $ 10.
2K
Borderlands 3 is the fourth main game in the franchise (such a misleading title) and one of the most publicized releases of 2019. It is a colorful and elegant first person shooter with a variety of weapons with which to attack enemies intergalactic. It also has a $ 30 discount until July 9.
