It’s Blaz the impaler.
A banner unfurled Tuesday on the Staten Island Freeway shows New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio smiling in a Che Guevara shirt as he holds Lady Liberty’s severed and bloody head.
“It is what it is doing to New York, it is cutting off the head of the largest city in the world,” said the artist behind the striking work, Scott LoBaido.
The Staten Islander was prompted to stab Hizzoner for his response to the Black Lives Matter protests that were unleashed in the Big Apple.
“New York has become a shit hole because of this guy,” LoBaido said of the mayor. “He hates real New Yorkers: policemen, firefighters … people who built this city.”
The pro-Trump artist was also angered that a blue line he painted to support the NYPD in front of the 122nd Precinct in New Dorp on Monday was smashed with “Black Lives Matter” graffiti shortly after it was completed.
“That thin blue line separates anarchy from civilization,” he told The Post.
So LoBaido put his feelings on paper and hung his eye-catching banner over the westbound freeway ramp, Exit 13B, during the afternoon rush hour.
His goal was to “shoot the masses” at De Blasio’s lack of leadership, and he said several cars honked their horns “like crazy” as the work was revealed.
While police officers asked LoBaido to remove the print about an hour and a half after it appeared, the controversial artist said he has plans to hang it elsewhere in the city in the future.
