Start times of the 2020 Travelers Championship, couples: full field, schedule established for Saturday in Round 3

With bad weather expected to pass through Cromwell, Connecticut on Saturday, Round 3 action at the 2020 Traveler Championship will start early. Trios will start from split jerseys at 7:15 a.m. ET, with the last group of leaders emerging from hole number 1 at 9:15 a.m.

Phil Mickelson is the solo leader in the final match through 36 holes after shooting a 7-under 63 on Friday and a 6-under 64 on Thursday. Following their trail are Will Gordon and Mackenzie Hughes, who have a backward swing at age 12 in two rounds. Gordon posted a 62 on Friday that ties for the second-best round among all golfers on the field when we were halfway through the event.

At the second tier of contenders chasing the featured trio of Mickelson, Gordon and Hughes leading up to move-in day there is a group of golfers seated at 9 years old: Xander Schauffele, Brendan Steele, Rory McIlroy, Brendon Todd and Marc Leishman.

As we enter the weekend, the health of the field still involved remains a story worth pursuing. Cameron Champ and Nick Watney pulled out of the Travelers after testing positive for COVID-19 before the start of Thursday, and on Friday, our first retirement action in the weekend came when Denny McCarthy retired after testing positive for the virus. The PGA Tour said that no other golfer so far has tested positive.
